You can fit an MDF board yourself with minimal tools and effort. MDF can be effortlessly and securely glued, dowelled, or fixed with screws, as it does not split easily. MDF is easy to screw and does not bend or crack, provided a sufficient distance from the edge is chosen, and appropriate pilot holes are drilled beforehand. Tongue and groove or tongue-in-groove are popular methods of affixing these boards, for example, in parquetry.
